I made it to Aalborg in one piece. It took me awhile to figure out the internet but I finally got it. The first night, I stayed at a hotel. A bunch of other kids from the states were staying there too so I got to meet them. I didn't go out because I was so tired, I went straight to bed.
Today we had to check out of the hotel by 10:45 and then drag our luggage 1.5 miles away to the Student house so we could get taken to our dorms. It was pretty funny looking 10-15 american all with 2 giant suitcases walking down the streets of Aalborg in a caravan. We got some pretty funny looks. I had actually got my key the day before so I just had to wait for a driver to free up to take me to my dorm. Other people did not have their keys so they had to wait, some girls had to wait till the evening to get their key. I lucked out and got a really nice dorm. I' ll put some pictures below. Its a spit level with a bathroom and then a kitchen/ living room combo on one level and then down a few steps is my bedroom. It's really nice I like it a lot. Some of the rooms are just one big room and I like the division.
The front door and my coat hooks.
The bathroom is right side when you walk in. Notice the absence of a shower curtain. Everyone has one but me. How weird is that?
This is my tiny kitchen table and two chair with a Monet picture I got free from the basement.
My couch we can double as a bed for overnight guests! I also got the bookshelf free from downstairs and the previous owner left me a TV.
This is my kitchen with a full stove. I don't yet have food to cook in it but that is project for tomorrow.
Down these stair is my bedroom. Straight ahead in the picture is a door that goes outside onto a little patio. Its cute!
This is my closet and a little chair
Finally my bed. I lucked out ad the sheets I brought fit so score for that one!
In terms of furnishing it just depends on what the people before you left behind. I have couch and table and some pots and pans but no shower curtain. Some have couches other don't. I have a bed frame but one girl just has 3 mattress stacked on top of each other. The kitchen wear also varies a lot from room to room. Some left a lot and other left very little. THe previous occupant of one apt left his bike for rachel! hoe awesome is that a free bike! I have to see about getting one. Everyone and I mean everyone has one here.
We had an orientation today and we have some more tomorrow. I also have my first class tomorrow. My registration had to be tweaked which is nerve racking but Ill figure it out. We are also having trouble figuring out how to get around and learning the bus system. Every trip is an adventure. Well I have to get up really early tomrrow to figure out the bus system. Bye for now!
IS THIS ALL FOR YOU????? That is amazing! I am totally jealous of your dorm!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous too. Your dorm is about 5X the size of mine.
